Sunday Edit from Devan Mickell on Vimeo.
I have a feeling she is going to get a new one ripped regardless. At least it proves one thing to be true: A Cinelli Vigorelli is definitely better than a Bianchi Pista for tricks and all around shredding.
I'd hit it.
ha, nice Clint.I noticed someone pulled his comment and there were a few too mean for me to publish. This chick rides a bike and is therefore part of the biking family whether you like her or think she can ride well or not.It seems a great bit of bike forums, especially fgfs kids, are run by teenage boys who talk mad shit about everyone and everything. That's all well and good among friends; i know me and the guys i hang with all give each other hell and call one another out regularly. It doesnt translate well over the internet and you come across as a dick even if its just a good natured ribbing. That being said, this isnt Disney Land and if you put something out there, you better have thick skin.Someone commented that if you were a guy and posted something like this, you'd be joked on so hard and i agree. A guy needs to do it twice as big or in this case, ten-times as big and land it perfectly. Everyone keeps giving her shit about her bike too. Yes It's dumb as shit to trick on that bike but it doesnt hurt my feelings any (just my wrists) and i don't think she's doing anything to actually break it so who cares; If it breaks it breaks, just replace it.
Can no one effing read? "Nothing special. Just a quick edit of some Sunday riding." I never claimed it was anything spectacular. It is just some video of me riding around on a relaxed and fun Sunday. Also, say all you want about my bike, but it hasn't broken yet, and if it does Cinelli will replace anything I break for free. Anyways, I have a new set up on the way. But for the next month, this is the bike I have, and I got it before I decided I'd try jumping off of shit. So AYHSMB.Also, Victor, it hurts my wrists too. Did you see the 5 stair video? Pain for days...And to Clintpatty: No shit you would, but I wouldn't in a million years. Keep dreaming. Chubby leprechauns aren't my thing.
That's what i was saying, ride it and if it breaks, it breaks. It seems borderline sacrilegious to tarck out a Cinelli but I guess Cinellof old is dead anyways so why not. Ride what you've got is what I say.If you put something out there, people are going to comment on it. If you only want to hear nice things, just show your boyfriend, otherwise there's a chance of criticism. They say once you put something on the internet, its impossible to ever destroy it totally. I think things in the bike world generally fall into either good-natured shit-talking (which most of my friends do to one another in large doses)and outright haters. Sometimes it's hard to decipher between the two on the internet. Me for example, I'm just messing with ya. I know you're just out there trying to learn but I also know you hate being called out on anything, maybe to a fault. Make a badass video and that will speak louder than anything else you can say.p.s. some of us are coming up to Nashville this weekend to ride
I don't mind criticism. What I was getting was that it was stupid to upload this to my vimeo cause it doesn't show anything amazing. I was just saying that I never claimed it did.Awesome! Who's all coming?
I'll be there.
I think it's excellent Devan. I don't see any other girls doing what you are doing (besides Julie in London, and also, I'm not really freezing google for girls on fixed gear videos). Keep it up! You have friends everywhere. We'll see you in Memphis for the BFF in May!
awe thanks guys! and definitely, nashville will be there (at least i know keith and i will be). victor, bring your mallet cause we're playing polo on saturday. keith and i played our first game the other day with some other friends who just started. i'm officially sold on it. SO fun.clintpatty, i'm not really mean, i just don't like being called an "it." and i admittedly like talking shit too. see you in nashville.
i think we're pushing our trip to next weekend because of the Holiday; it wasn't very well thought out but we want to go up there and ride.im always down for polo unfortunately my hand is f*cked up right now from some shenanigans
Devan,"I'd hit it" is a common internet phrase when you don't have anything relevant to say, or at least it used to be. It's not something I say in person. So it's more using that phrase than really calling you an it. You're not actually that mean, and I'm not actually how I came across in that post. And I'm not really going on the trip, already signed up to teach some bicycle commuter classes here on Saturdays this month.
victor: word, i kind of figured. just let keith or i know when you do.
